Frequently Asked Questions

1.   How much are dues?  Joining Gamma Gamma is one of the cheapest social activities you can do in New York City- dues are only $40 per year, and $30 for recent grads!  Dues are used to pay for events (i.e. snacks and drinks), help philanthropies, and support AXO Nationals.

2.      Do I have to pay dues to be involved?
Yes.  At the start of each event, and Executive Board member will check to make sure that each person is current in their dues status.  They will also be able to collect dues directly at the event, so feel free to bring a check or cash if you are new to the chapter! 

3.      Are events mandatory?
No! We do ask that you RSVP if you want to attend an event, but nothing is mandatory. Alumnae chapters are all about fun, and not about a serious time commitment.

4.      What is the age range within the chapter?
We have alumnae of all ages and backgrounds, and work to provide programming that appeals to every member.

5.      Why should I join Gamma Gamma?
For great networking opportunities, for a built-in support system in a big city, for meeting new friends and for sharing stories about your years as a collegiate sister!

6.      When I attend an event, how will I find the chapter?

Please check the website for the most current information on all events.  We will also send out update email reminders if any of the details change.  For each event, we will provide a contact name and phone number of someone on the executive board to call if you are lost or cannot find the sisters. Also, at large events (i.e. events in

Central Park), just look for the red and green balloons signifying Gamma Gamma sisters.

7.      I have a great event idea/philanthropy event for the chapter…what do I do?
Gamma Gamma is always looking for new events to mention to the chapter! Just e-mail philanthropy@nycaxoalum.com and we will add the event to the next newsletter that is sent out.

8.        How many events are there per month?
Usually there is one sisterhood event, and then a philanthropy and/or All-Greek event. You can come to one or all of the events if your schedule permits.

9.        I am completely new to NYC and know NO ONE!!! Is there someone I can contact with questions about the city?
