Elections and Kick-Off Meeting

It’s September, and Gamma Gamma is ready to kick off an exciting year of events!  Join us for our first meeting of the academic year to hold elections and plan our calendar for the 2009-2010 year!  We’ll be planning for our book club, volunteer events, happy hours, weekend brunches and more.

When: Thursday September 17th at 7pm

Where: Marriott Marquis, Atrium LoungeIf you are interested in running for a position, please email Melissa which position(s) you are interested in and your platform (about a paragraph) for each to president@nycaxoalum.com.  Please respond by September 15th.  A description of the positions is below.

President ~ She leads the Alumnae organization and attends the national conference.  She is in close contact with nationals about what is going on with AXO on a national level.

VP-Communications ~ She communicates information from the executive board to the rest of the chapter.  Updates the website and sends information to nationals for their correspondents with all alums.  Updates the member list for e-mail blasts and mailings.

VP-Fraternity Relations ~ She contacts other Fraternity and sorority alumni organizations in the area to plan events together.  Organize social or philanthropic events.

VP-Historian ~ She keeps track of old and new material and photos to share with members.  Creates information and images to be displayed on the website.

VP-Membership Development ~ She welcomes the new members and explains the benefits of the Gamma Gamma chapter.  She helps connect Gamma Gamma with the Columbia Collegiate chapter for their major events.

VP-Panhellenic Representative ~ She is in contact with the Panhellenic chapter here in NYC and plans events and keeps AXO up to date on what is going on in the alum Greek community.

VP-Philanthropy ~ She organizes events where Gamma Gamma can give back to the community.  In the past we have painted schools, gardened, Party in a box and the Revlon Breast Cancer Walk.

VP-Recruitment ~ She tries to increase membership through events and getting the word out.  Work with the

Columbia chapter for their recruitment in the Fall or Spring.

Warden ~ She keeps the alum chapter following ritual through education and traditional ceremonies/events.  She also works with Columbia when needed on their AXO rituals
